LOUIS DELAVIGNE

Story

Travel back in time and let your imagination roam free. In the 1930s, in the heart of one of France’s most ancient vineyards, Louis inspected his vines in the first light of dawn. In the village, he was known as ‘Louis of the vine’ for the rarity of his vines.

This vintage is his most delicious legacy. Born of a generous terroir, its red fruity flavours enhance its warm character.

TERROIR

Côtes du Rhône

The Côtes du Rhône appellation is produced in the southern vineyards of the Rhône valley, the second largest regional appellation after Bordeaux. This terroir benefits from a Mediterranean climate with dry, warm summers, mild, sunny winters and the occasional influence of the Mistral wind. The soil is composed of clay-limestone and pebbles; the pebbles retain the heat of the day throughout the night, the clay keeps the ground cool and the limestone acts as a filter.

AN EXCEPTIONAL WINE

It’s advantages

“Its warm character…”

Louis Delavigne is a pleasing combination of several tastes. It blends two legendary Côtes du Rhône varieties:
Syrah with its spicy character and delicious hints of violet and Grenache with its tannins which mellow with ageing, revealing delightful fruity flavours. Louis Delavigne comes in a classic bottle with traditional and familiar packaging.

The Rhône valley must!

"There's plenty to love here. This has very approachable red plum and blackberry aromas and flavors with some gentle spice, too. Tannins are soft and deliver velvety texture throughout. Drink now."

James Suckling

"Slightly mature garnet. Fairly subtle nose of red fruits. The palate is light, fruity, spicy and balanced. An instantly accessible, easy-drinking wine that pairs well with simple, everyday foods."
